Best oil painting class I have ever taken. Tim is and excellent teacher as well as an awesome artist. He is so willing to share his techniques and experience to help all of his students become better painters. I especially appreciated the individual critique sessions. I learned so much! His "Barns in the landscape" class totally reinvigorated me and re energized my painting. I can't wait to take the next class.

Tim's online 3-day How to Paint Barns class covered everything from mixing colors with a limited palette to what questions to ask to guide you from designing to completing your painting. He's an excellent teacher. Tim's set up was perfect. He easily switched between cameras to give you an up close (& being there) feeling. I look forward to taking another class with Tim.

Being new to landscape painting, I appreciated that TJ's teaching is clear and includes all the fundamentals: linear and aerial perspective, color mixing, and theory of angles in the landscape. During class his demos give you his process step-by-step, including what he's thinking, how he solves problems and how he mixes color. His critiques of homework have specific recommendations for improvements along with an image of your painting with the changes, making it much easier to follow his suggestions. I probably had more one-on-one time with the instructor in TJ's class than I've had in most of the in-person workshops I've attended. Plus he's a nice guy! Can't wait for the next course!

This is the third class I’ve taken from him. As always, I took away ideas I use every day in my painting: ‘a color is dead without its complement’ or ‘lose lines in architectural renderings.’ His technical execution in managing the class on Zoom is meticulous and no one should worry that they can’t negotiate the class. He makes all questions welcome and is totally accessible.

Tim ‘s Barn class was fantastic! Learning how to paint architecture in the landscape was something I wanted to learn to be a more complete landscape painter. It was a wonderful class. It was really helpful to have the critique each day and seeing the changes suggested with photo shop. Very good instruction and explanation of the color mixing and painting techniques. I would take another class with Tim.

I learned so much from this Barn Class. I love the step by step process and all the invaluable professional instruction that Tim so generously shares. For example, the importance of soft edges, brush strokes used to get the look of an old barn and his color instruction is wonderful. I would definitely take other classes from Tim.

This class was a bit difficult for me as it involved some drawing of architecture, the barn to be exact. But Tim showed us how to make it easier through 2 point perspective and I have a nice barn painting. I will be taking more classes from him as he is a very good instructor.
