I liked the way the class was organized and presented. The outline was clearly stated with the goal’s for completing each part of the class. I liked the challenge of the homework. The handouts and references are excellent. The painting class sessions were a challenge but a great experience to paint along, the ability to ask questions and learn from others in the class. Tim covered every aspect of creating a painting from drawing to the finished piece.
I like the easy access to the YouTube recordings that are always available. I learned a lot from the the individual and group feedback- critique sessions. With Tim’s classes the students benefit from the instruction, inspirational artwork and the expertise of a accomplished painter.

Great workshop! I have always admired Tim's work and wanted to learn more about his approach. Tim does an excellent job of explaining concepts as he works through paintings. I was able to get many insights in how to improve my painting. Also, having access to the videos after the workshop meant I could rewind to reinforce concepts when needed. All in all I feel this was time well invested. Looking forward to the next workshop.

Skies and Clouds is the third class I have taken with Tim. I’m now part of his ongoing forum…Art Journey. I have learned so much! Tim’s teaching style and personal one/on-one input have moved me significantly forward in my learning of oil painting.

This was a great class for advanced and beginners. Lots of tips on layout, colors and general land and sky scapes. Additional one on one video call once a week besides the 3 hour classes. I recommend this class.

In the Sky Class, I was fascinated with the color mixtures you use to create the near and distant appearance of clouds.
I've taken several of your classes and appreciate how you teach even the fine points such as discribing the colors you are mixing to achieve effects of perspective, and demonstrating how you correct a problem area or create a variety of edges.

Tim's online Skies and Clouds course exceeded my expectations! Tim is a rare teacher. He not only expertly demonstrated how to paint the skies and cloud paintings that were part of this course, but he was able to effectively verbalize how to go about this. The Skies and Clouds class with Tim was a great learning experience, and Tim is a natural teacher as well as an incredible artist. The class consisted of demonstrations and individual critique sessions. The demos were well structured with new concepts covered each week, and I really enjoyed watching Tim’s painting process - how he mixes the paint colors, brush techniques, etc. How he is able to explain the process, answer questions, keep the camera angles perfect AND paint beautifully all at once, I don’t know, but he seems to do it all with ease. Some students painted along with him, but I took fairly extensive notes so I can go back and remember everything. The 15 minute critique sessions were immensely helpful, as Tim would make a copy of my painting in photoshop, then make suggestions and show changes on the copy, so I could clearly see how his suggestions would look, compared to the original. You wouldn’t be able to get this level of feedback in a traditional in-person class, the one to one attention is so helpful.

I am not a landscape painter .This is not a finished painting, but it is the result of the simple plan of how to start a painting that was taught in this class. I would recommend this class to anyone who struggles with how to begin a painting and bring it along step by step, simplifying the process to bring your vision to the canvas. I also enjoyed the homework and will use those lessons going forward. I like my painting so well at this stage I may never finish it. Very worthwhile, informative, and beautifully structured class for a beginner or more advanced painter.
