This intimate portrait of a ram was inspired by my love for the Dutch painters — the quiet drama of their light, the depth of their shadow, and the reverence they brought to even the humblest subjects.

I painted it with that same sensitivity in mind, focusing on the subtle shifts of color and texture that bring the form to life — the glint of horn, the warmth of wool, the calm dignity of the animal itself.
